Some Bed Placement Dates

January 30, 2026: A call was received from the school system saying that a family needed beds for 4 children. It is 1pm on a workday Friday with a snowstorm bearing down on us that may shut our community down for days. The Rotarian receiving the call responded immediately making calls to other Rotarians for volunteers that began getting into their trucks, heading to a storage unit for 4 beds that were built on January 10th, going to Walmart for bedding, and going to America’s Mattresses for mattresses. At 3pm, these Rotarian volunteers began assembling the acquired beds and bedding for the delivery trip to Beaufort. Upon arrival in Beaufort, a happy boy helps unload into his apartment. He and his brothers are so excited. Rotarians Zach and Dean get beds inside while Jayna hauls in bedding. Zach assembles the crib and Jayna and Barbara tackle bedding. At 4:30 the impossible was accomplished. A family with 4 boys has new warm beds before the storm hits. This makes 32 beds delivered to date by the Morehead City Rotary Club’s Bedtime Blessings outreach program.

December 18, 2025:Bedtime Blessings received a donation of $1200 from the Pine Knoll Shores PEO thanks to the inspiration of Janet Furman. This gift will fund 5 beds for local children in need. Since September, Bedtime Blessings has provided 28 beds to children identified by Carteret County Child Protective Services and Carteret County Schools as requiring beds and bedding. We thank our ongoing partners in this effort: Manager Monica Blocker of Walmart and Bryan Hamilton owner of America's Mattresses.

November 17, 2025: We have supplied 14 beds and working on a crib and two more twin beds this week.

October 25, 2025: Bedtime Blessings at work through Rotary Club of Morehead City NC - "Service Above Self " since 1925. Beds 5 & 6 delivered to two teen boys yesterday and beds 7, 8, 9, and 10 delivered on this beautiful day to a family of 3 girls and a boy.
